Documents stay on your Mac
So Markdown reads Markdown files and permitted local images on your Mac. It does not send document content, filenames or reading history anywhere. It does not modify source documents.
Local preferences
Your reading preferences and imported style files are stored locally. So Markdown does not use them for analytics or advertising.
Network access
Remote images, stylesheets and fonts inside documents are not downloaded. WebKit requires network permission to start its rendering processes, but So Markdown’s document viewer blocks remote document resources. If you click an http or https link, its destination is passed to your default browser. Your browser and the destination website then operate under their own privacy policies.
Printing and PDF
When you print or save as PDF, macOS receives the rendered document and sends it to the destination you choose.
Apple services
Apple controls the App Store, Quick Look and system diagnostics. Information handled by those services is governed by Apple’s policies and your device settings.
Support email
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send. It is used to answer your request. Please do not send private documents unless they are necessary and you are comfortable sharing them.
This website
This site has no forms, analytics or third-party assets. It does not use cookies to remember you or measure your activity. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie and processes basic connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the pages and protect the service.
